SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY/COLTON UTILITY <br />AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />JOINED WITH THE UTILTIES COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AUGUST 22, 2006 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council/Redevelopment Agency/Colton Utility Authority of the City of <br />Colton was held at 5:32 p.m., on the above -given date in the Gonzales Community Center, located <br />at 670 Colton Avenue, Colton, California with Mayor Bennett presiding. Notice of Special Meeting <br />was given on August 10, 2006, in compliance with Government Code Section 54956. <br />ROLL CALL CITY COUNCIL: <br />Councilmembers present were Suchil, Mitchell, Ramos, Chastain, De La Rosa, and Mayor Bennett. <br />Also present were City Manager Parrish, City Attorney Martinez, and Chief Deputy City Clerk Flores. <br />Councilmember Hernandez absent. <br />ROLL CALL UTILITIES COMMISSION: <br />Commissioners present were Joe Perez, Susan Oliva, Alex Perez, Tom Archuleta, and Chairperson <br />Andres Vilches. Also present were Community Development Director Zamora. Commissioners <br />Prieto and Ramirez absent. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />The following citizen addressed the City Council: None <br />Siqn Ordinance Workshop <br />Said Special Meeting was to discuss the update of the City of Colton Sign Ordinance. <br />Redevelopment Agency Director Cassel outlined the basics for the workshop. The presentation <br />would have four segments: <br />A. Goals for Workshop <br />1. Review of Plan of Attack — Update <br />2. Establish a Committee <br />3. Provide Direction to Committee <br />B. Results of Pre -Workshop Survey <br />a. Identify Major issues to be studied — Direction for Committee <br />C. Committee Selection <br />a. Subject to Brown Act; Regular meetings <br />b. Minutes provided to Mayor and Council/Planning Commission after each <br />Committee meeting <br />c. Seek Public Input Whelp from Chamber of Commerce Property owners, <br />business owners and residents <br />d. Recommendation — an odd number, not to exceed 11: 2-3 <br />Councilmember's; 2-3 Planning Commissioners; at least 1 representative <br />
