Violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance is <br />punishable by fine not exceeding $500. 00 or by imprisonment in the County <br />Jail not exceeding six (6) months or by both such .fine and imprisonment. <br />SECTION 6. Any massage parlor operated, conducted or maintained <br />contrary to the provisions of this Ordinance shall be and the same is hereby <br />declared to be unlawful and a public nuisance and the City Attorney may in <br />addition to or in lieu of prosecuting a criminal action hereunder, commence <br />an action or actions, proceeding or proceedings for the abatement, removal <br />and enjoinment thereof, in the manner provided by law; and shall take such <br />other steps, and shall apply to such court or courts as may have jurisdiction <br />to grant such relief as will abate or remove such massage parlor and restrain <br />and enjoin any person from operating, conducting or maintaiining a massage <br />parlor contrary to the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 7. If any provision of this Ordinance, or the application <br />thereof to any person or circumstances is held to be invalid, the remainder of <br />the Ordinance and the application of such provisions to other persons or <br />circumstances shall not be affected thereby. <br />If any section, sub --section, sentence, clause or phrase of this <br />Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such de- <br />cision shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions <br />of this Ordinance. The Council hereby declares that it would have passed this <br />Ordinance, and each section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase thereof <br />irrespective of the fact that one or more of the sections, subsections, sentence <br />clauses or phrases thereof be declared unconstitutional or invalid. <br />SECTION 8. Repeal of conflicting Ordinances. All Ord{nances or <br />parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 9. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after the date <br />of its adoption and prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage <br />thereof shall be published at least once in the Colton Courier, a newspaper of <br />general circulation published and circulated in the City of Colton. <br />
