Ordinance No. 907 Section Eight is hereby amended <br />to read as follows - <br />Section Eight. At the time this ordinance goes into operation the <br />provisions of Ordinances No. 905 and No. 906 shall be suspended and shall not <br />again: be in force or effect until -land unless for any reason the State Board or <br />Equalization ceases to perform the functions incident to the administration <br />and operation of the sales and use tax hereby imposed.- provided, however, <br />that if for any reason it is determined that the City of Colton is without power <br />to adopt this ordinance, or that the State Board of Equalization is without <br />power to perform the functions incident to the administration and operation of <br />the taxes imposed by this Ordinance, the provisions of Ordinances No. 905 <br />and No. 906 shall not be deemed to have been suspended but shall be deemed to <br />have ]seen in full force and effect at the rate of one percent (:lOja) continuously <br />from and after October 1, 1964,, Upon the ceasing of the State Board of <br />Equalization to perform the functions incident to the administration and opera- <br />tion of the taxes imposed by this ordinance, the provisions or Ordinances No. <br />905 and No. 906 shall again be in full force -and effect at the rate of one percent <br />(1%). Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed as relieving any person of <br />the obligation to pay to the City of Colton any sales or use tax accrued and <br />owing by reason of the provisions of any ordinance of said city. <br />SECTION FIVE. That it is necessary fhat fhict rrrriinn-n <br />effect immediately in order for said ordinance to coincide and coordinate <br />with the remaining provisions of Ordinance N. 907 and amendments thereto <br />and, therefore, the passage of this ordinance is an emergency matter, and it <br />is hereby ordained, that said ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its. <br />passage and approval by the City Council of the -City of Colton. <br />SECTION SIX., The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this <br />Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Colton Courier, <br />a. newspaper of general circulation in the City of Colton. <br />PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED <br />7t ay o/f.
