ORDINANCE NO. 1213 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLO!r,;-S: <br />SECTION 1, That the "Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition, Volume 1 <br />and Appendices thereto'published and copyrighted 'hy the International <br />Conference Of BuildingOfficials'll threecopiesof which in book form <br />are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Colton for <br />Public use and certified by the certificate-nf the City Clerk of the City <br />Of Colton attached thereto, reading as follows: <br />III, Elizabeth Davis, City Clerk of the City of Colton do hereby <br />certify that the Annexed Uniform Building Code of 1964 Edition <br />and Appendices., is the Uniform Building Code referred to in <br />Ordinance No. 1213 of the City of Colton, 11 <br />be and the same is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of <br />Colton, for regulating the erection, construction alteration, repair <br />y .1 <br />moving, removal, <br />demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, <br />height, area and/or maintenance and other matters contained in said code <br />of all buildings and structures of any t7pe whatsoever and each of,the <br />provisions in reference to issuance of permits, collection of fees, <br />establishing fire zones and each and every other provision, regulation., <br />penalty, condition and term of said building code hereinbefore referred <br />to and adopted and made a part hereof as if fuller set forth herein. <br />SECTION 2. That Section 301a of the "Uniform Building Code, 1964 <br />Edition" shall be amended to read as follows: <br />Section 301(a) Permits Required. No person, firm or corporation <br />shall erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, "remove, <br />convert, or demolish any building or structure in the City or cause the <br />same to be done, without first obtaining a separate building permit for <br />each such building or structure from the Building Official; <br />Provided however, that no permit for the erection of billboards <br />shall be issued without prior Council approval. <br />All applications for such a permit re-aeived by the Building <br />Official shall forthwith be referred to the City Council for such action. <br />Tho Building Official shall give notice to the applicant of the <br />time of such -presentation at least five days prior to the time when such <br />application will be considered. <br />The City Council shall, by motion, duly pass, approve or deny <br />said appl., cation, <br />(a) 1. That notwithstanding anything contained herein a <br />Building Permit Fee is hereby waived for each fallout or bomb shelter. <br />SECTION 3. That Section 302 of said "Uniform Building Code, 1964 <br />Edition" shall be amended by adding three new sub -paragraphs numbered <br />(f), and (h) shall read as follows: <br />(f) Permits withheld or suspended.
