PURPOSE AND INTENT. <br />The purpose of this ordinance shall be to establish airport <br />operating areas and to regulate the heights and limits therein, to <br />afford the greatest protection to the general public and to operat- <br />ing aircraft. This ordinance is adopted pursuant to the Government <br />de, Sections 50485-50485.14 and amendments, and shall be construed <br />in support of the provisions and spirit thereof. <br />Section 2. TITLE. <br />This ordinance shall be known as the Airport Operating <br />Ordinance. <br />Section 3. DEFINITIONS. As used in this ordinance, the <br />following words and phrases have the meaning herein set forth: <br />Airport - Any area designed for the landing or taking off <br />Jof aircraft and utilized or to be utilized in the interest of the <br />public and having a valid airport permit from the State of Californi <br />ronautics Division and approval of the Federal Aviation Agency, <br />and includes Heliports. <br />Airport Hazard - Any structure or object of,natural growth <br />or use which obstructs the airspace required for the flight, landing, <br />or taking off of aircraft at an airport, or is otherwise hazardous <br />
