Ordinance No. 964 of the City of Colton, is <br />hereby amended by adding to Article III, Section 300, the follow- <br />ing Zone District: <br />"F -P - Flood Plain Zone" <br />SECTION TWO. That Article XII, Section 1200, is hereby <br />added to Ordinance 964 to read as follows: <br />ARTICLE XII <br />F -P FLOOD PLAIN ZONE <br />SECTION 1200. Description and Purpose. The Flood Plain <br />Zone is intended to be applied to those areas of the City of <br />(Colton which under present conditions are subject to periodic <br />flooding and accompanying hazards, in the interest of promoting <br />j�health, safety and general welfare of the people of the City of <br />I� <br />;Colton. The objective of the Flood Plain Zone shall be: <br />I' A. To prohibit occupancy or the encroachment of any <br />it <br />structure, improvement or development that would <br />obstruct the natural flow of flood waters within <br />a designated flood way on the flood plain. <br />B. To keep developments in the remainder of the <br />flood plain above the design flood flow eleva- <br />tion. <br />i <br />i <br />C. To prevent economic loss caused by excessive <br />i <br />�I <br />flooding and to prevent loss of life or property. <br />
