Zone FP -1 (Designated Floodway) . The channel <br />of a stream and that part of the adjoining <br />flood plain designated to reasonably provide <br />for the construction of a project for passage <br />of the design flood. <br />2. Zone FP -2 (Restrictive Zone) . That part of the <br />floodway of flood plain within the overflow <br />limits as determined by the selected flood. <br />E. Floodway. . Floodway shall mean the channel of a <br />stream and that part of the flood plain inundated <br />i <br />by a flood and, therefore, used to carry flood flow. <br />F. San Bernardino County Flood Control District. San <br />I <br />Bernardino County Flood Control District shall mean <br />a District established by Act of the State Legislature, <br />I <br />empowered to protect the water courses of said <br />district and governed by Board of Supervisors of the <br />County of San Bernardino acting as Ex -Officio <br />Governing Board of the District. <br />G. Selected Flood. Selected Flood shall mean a flood <br />of a recurrence interval determined by the Planning <br />Commission or City Council after a recommendation of <br />the Chief Engineer of the San Bernardino County Flood <br />Control District. <br />H. Standard Prosect Flood. Standard Project Flood shall <br />mean a flood that would result from a storm that is <br />considered reasonably characteristic of the region <br />in which the drainage area is located, giving con- <br />sideration to the run-off characteristics of the <br />drainage area and excluding rare combinations of <br />meteorologic and hydrologic conditions. Such a <br />flood provides a reasonable upper limit to be con- <br />sidered in designing flood control improvements and <br />flood plain limits. <br />-3- <br />
