3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13- <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO., 1535 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />a, <br />CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. <br />800, 1195, AND 1326 AND THE COLTON MUNI- <br />CIPAL CODE, SECTIONS 5.16.040, 5.04.050, <br />AND 7.08.010. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AS <br />IFOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 800, and Section 5.16.040 <br />of the Colton Municipal Code, are hereby amended to read as follows: <br />At the time of filing the application, a fee in an amount to be <br />determined by resolution of the City Council shall be paid to the City Manager <br />to cover the cost of investigation of the facts stated therein. <br />SECTION 2. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1195, and Section 5.04.050 <br />of the Colton Municipal Code, are hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Should the Chief of Police, after a complete investigation of the <br />applicant and of the representations contained in the application, be of the <br />opinion that the applicant has not stated true facts in his application, or that <br />lif a permit should be granted to the applicant a fraud in all probability would <br />be perpetrated upon the public, the Chief of Police may refuse to issue such a <br />permit to such applicant. <br />Should the Chief of Police be satisfied that the application is <br />truthful, that the applicant is acting in good faith and that in all probability <br />a fraud would not be perpetrated upon the public, a permit shall be issued to <br />such applicant for such period of time as the applicant may request, provided, <br />however, that no permit shall be valid for a period of more than six months from <br />the date of issuance; and provided further that as a condition to granting.such <br />permit the Chief.of Police shall require the applicant to pay a sum to be deter- <br />mined by resolution of the City Council for each applicant to defray costs of <br />such investigation. <br />
