Adoption of Uniform Fire Code. <br />71 <br />'There is hereby adopted by the City of Colton for the purpose of <br />prescribing re <br />p g lations gu governing conditions hazardous to life and property . <br />I <br />from fire or explosion, that certain code known as the i3niform Fire Code - <br />20 <br />recommended by the Western .Fire Chiefs Association and the International <br />3.1 <br />I <br />Conference of Building Officials being particularly the 1979 edition thereof <br />12 <br />and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter <br />2 j <br />► <br />deleted, modified or amended by Section 7 of this ordinance of which code <br />1 f <br />j <br />not Less than three (3) copies have been and are now filed in the office of <br />i5 <br />the clerk' of the City of Colton and the same are hereby adopted and <br />16 E <br />incorporated as fully as if ::set -out at length herein, and from the date <br />on which this -ordinance shall take effect, the provision thereof shall be <br />1$ <br />I <br />controlling within the limits of.the City of Colton. <br />j <br />SECTION 2, Establishment and Duties of Bureau of Fire Prevention. <br />(a) The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the Bureau of <br />23 <br />Fire Prevention in the fire department of the City of Calton which is hereby <br />22 <br />established and which shall be operated ,under the supervision of the Chief <br />2$ <br />f <br />of the Fire Department. <br />24 1 <br />(b) The Chief in charge of the Bureau of Eire Prevention shall <br />25 <br />.., _ <br />be appointed by the Chief of the Fire Department on the basis of examination <br />26 <br />to determine his qualifications, <br />:27 <br />(c) The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of ' <br />the Farre Department as inspectors as shall from time to time be necessary. <br />29 ' <br />The Chief of -the Fine Department shall recommend to the City Council the <br />Zo <br />I <br />employment of technical inspes:�o-rs, who, when sash authorization is <br />made, shall be selected through an examination to determine their fitness for <br />f <br />I <br />
