Such system <br />27 1 <br />may consist of one or more detectors sensitive to heat, and at least one <br />$" <br />detector sensitive to products of combustion other than heat. Alarm signaling devices shall be clearly audible in all <br />bedrooms when all intervening doors are closed. For the purposes of install- <br />ation and maintenance, only the appropriate sections of NFPA Standard No. 74, <br />"Standards for the -Installation, Maintenance and Use of Home Fire Warning <br />24 <br />Systems" shall be considered accepted engineering practices. Installations <br />25 <br />of said systems shall have prior approval of the Chief of the Fire Department. <br />28 <br />No existing _single or two-family residence shall be sold, rented, and no <br />27 <br />remodeling,'additions or .repairs of a value of $1,000.00 or more shall be <br />2$ j <br />made thereto, unless,and until the residence meets the requirements of <br />29 <br />Section 10.30 7(e) . Compliance will begin, for all homes sold, rented -or remodel- <br />zo <br />r <br />ed after Adoption of this; Ordinance. The date :of sale is interpreted to <br />mean the date when the contract to purchase is negotiated and signed.
