Subdivision "A" of Section 5.44.050 of Chapter 5.44 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />"5.44.050 Permit Application — Filing and Fee. <br />A. Applications for permits to conduct special events shall be completed in writing on <br />a form provided by the City and shall be filed within the time frames below: <br />(1) `Major special events': Applications shall be filed with the Administrative <br />Authority not less than sixty (60) working days prior to the opening date of the event. <br />(2) `Minor special events': Applications shall be filed with the Administrative <br />Authority not less than thirty (30) working days prior to the opening date of the event. <br />(3) `Miscellaneous special events': Applications shall be filed with the <br />department directly affected by the event, according to City policy as established by City Council <br />resolution, not less than seven (7) working days prior to the event. If an application on its face <br />demonstrates that the applicant wishes to exercise his or her free speech rights, as defined in <br />this article, such application shall be filed not less than four (4) working days prior to the event. <br />SECTION 2: Subsection (3) of subdivision (i) of Section 5.44.020 of Chapter 5.44 of the <br />Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />"(3) `Miscellaneous special events' shall mean those events which impact only one <br />City department, including, but not limited to, the following departments: <br />a. Community Development; <br />b. Police; <br />C. Community Services; or <br />d. Fire. <br />`Miscellaneous special events' shall include, but shall not be limited to, park and <br />facility usage, such as usage of the Fleming Park band shell, which does not fall into the <br />categories of major or minor special events as defined in this section 5.44.020, as well as short- <br />RVPUBWSTUBBS\709472.3 - 1 - <br />
