RESOLUTION N0. 1269 <br />AcCl <br />R <br />WHEREAS, it manifestly appears, after careful consider- <br />ation of all the facts of the case, that the application of Southern <br />Pacific Railroad Company, a corporation, and Southern Pacific Com m <br />pang, a corporation, its lessee, for nenewal of franchise for rail- <br />road tracks across certain streets is necessary for the proper <br />economic development of railroad service in that .vicinity; and <br />SEAS', it is the conclusion of this City Council, after <br />such consideration of the facts, that there is and can be no bona <br />fide competition in bidding for such franchise; <br />NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council j <br />grant the franchise to Southern Pacific Railroad Company, a <br />corporation, and Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, its lessee <br />without advertising the same for sale to thehi ghe s t bidder, and <br />the same shall be granted by ordinance. <br />ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of July, 1946. <br />A.
