11 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 � <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />I" <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3589 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING <br />FILING OF ARTICLE 8 PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION <br />CLAIM. <br />WHEREAS, public transportation is an essential ingredient in the <br />metropolitan community of the 1970's and is destined to play an even more im- <br />portant role in Southern California as the years progress; and <br />WHEREAS, the passage of SB325, the Transportation Development Act of <br />1971, as amended, has made available critically needed funds for the support <br />of public transportation to better serve the transportation needs of the com- <br />muter, the elderly, the severely handicapped, the disadvantaged and other <br />segments of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is participating in the San Bernardino <br />County -Wide Transportation Study to determine whether unmet transit needs <br />exist; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is currently contracting with San Bernar- <br />dino Transit System for public transportation service; and which, at this time, <br />the funding amount is not available; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Colton, California, as follows: <br />That the Article 4 Transportation Claim,will be filed at a later date <br />when the funding amount becomes available from Siin Bernardino Transit System, <br />Omnitrans, which is estimated at approximately $80,000, and <br />That the Article 8 Transportation Claim in the amount of $159,707.00 <br />is hereby approved for filing with the Southern California Association of <br />Governments, of which $3,867.00 will be used for subregional transportation <br />�planning, $464.00 will be used for SCAG'8 Regional Planning Effort and <br />$150,376.00 will be divided when the Article 4 Claim amount is determined., which_ <br />-1- <br />
