1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />161 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22. <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3606 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON OPPOSING PASSAGE OF THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION NO. 15 <br />WHEREAS, at the June 8, 1976 Election, voters of the City <br />of Colton and throughout the State of California are being asked to <br />consider Proposition 15 which would shut down all California nuclear <br />plants and make future operation of these plants contingent upon <br />achievement of unreachable conditions, and <br />WHEREAS, passage of Proposition 15 would sharply increase <br />utility bills as oil generated electric costs about twice as much as <br />nuclear -generated electricity, and <br />WHEREAS, passage of Proposition 15 could severely'l.imit <br />job opportunities as California's inability to meet industrial energy <br />needs could lead to even greater unemployment than currently exists, and <br />WHEREAS, passage of Proposition 15 would seriously <br />aggravate our, growing energy shortage, and <br />WHEREAS, passage of Proposition 15 would increse dependence <br />on foreign oil by requiring the use of an additional approximately 38 <br />million barrels of oil annually, seriously setting back U.S. energy <br />independence goals. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER, as follows: <br />That all voters of the City of Colton seriously consider <br />voting NO on Proposition 15 at the June 8, 1976 election, and <br />FURTHER, that all residents of the City of Colton continues <br />to use energy wisely and without waste. <br />PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of June, 1976. <br />MayoyW <br />ATTEST: <br />City Clerk <br />
