1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />221 <br />231 <br />24 <br />25 <br />-26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3627 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE <br />,HELD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OS SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS <br />OF SAID CITY AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO AMENDING <br />THE CITY OF COLTON'S EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT PLAN <br />AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATE- <br />WIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the legislative body of the City of Colton desires to <br />submit to the qualified voters of said City,, a proposed Ordinance relating <br />to amending the City of Colton's Employees Retirement Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton is thereupon <br />authorized and directed by statute to submit the Ordinance to the qualified <br />voters; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton, California, <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: <br />SECTION 1. That a special election be held and the same is <br />hereby called to be held in said.City on November 2, 1976, for the purpose <br />of submitting to the qualified voters of said City an Ordinance hereinafter <br />set forth relating to amending the City of Colton's Employees Retirement <br />Plan. <br />SECTION 2. The proposed Ordinance submitted to the voters <br />shall be as follows: <br />Shall the City of Colton's Employees Retirement Plan, <br />originally adopted in 1945, be modified effective <br />July 1, 1977, to provide improved retirement benefits <br />to Colton Fire Safety Employees, herein referred to <br />as Local Safety Members, on the basis of discretionary <br />retirement at age 50, with the local safety member re- <br />ceiving a retirement of Two Percent (2%) of their final <br />compensation for each year of service (not to exceed <br />Seventy-five Percent (75%) of final compensation) with <br />compulsory retirement at age 60 (see California Govern- <br />ment Code Section 21252.01); and the levy of only such <br />property taxes as will be necessary to pay the City's <br />share of said benefits, be adopted? <br />SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be opened at <br />seven o'clock A. M. of the day of said election and shall remain open continu- <br />ously from said time until eight o'clock P. M. of the same day, when said polls <br />shall. be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of <br />the State of California. <br />
