1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13. <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18' <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3628 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARD'INO TO CONSOLIDATE <br />A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL, ELECTION OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, WITH <br />THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 2, 1976, PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 <br />OF THE ELECTIONS CODE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton called a special <br />municipal election in the Ci.,ty of Colton to be held on November 2, 1976,. <br />for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the City of Colton <br />a proposition concerning amending the City of Colton's Employees Retirement <br />Plan as hereinafter set forth; and <br />It is desirable that said special municipal election be consoli- <br />dated with the statewide general election to be held on the same date and <br />that within the City of Colton the precincts, polling places and election <br />officers of the two elections be the same, and that the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of San Bernardino canvass the returns of the special municipal <br />election and that said statewide general election and special municipal <br />election be hald in all respects as if there were only one election; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does <br />hereby resolve, determine, and order as follows: <br />SECT°ION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 <br />of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino <br />be and it hereby is requested to consent and agree to the.consolidation of <br />a special municipal election with the statewide general election on Tuesday, <br />the 2nd day of November, 1976, for the purpose of submitting to the electors <br />of the City of Colton a proposition to appear on the ballot at follows: <br />Shall,the City of Colton's Employees Retirement <br />Plan, originally adopted in 1945, be modified <br />effective July'1, 1977, to provide improved re- <br />tirement benefits to Colton Fire Safety Employees, <br />herein referred to as Local Safety Members, on <br />the basis of discretionary retirement at age 50, <br />with the local safety member receiving a retire- <br />ment of Two Percent (2%) of their final compensa- <br />tion for each year of service (not to exceed <br />Seventy-five Percent (75%)of final compensation) <br />with compulsory retirement at age 60 (see Cali- <br />fornia Government Code Section 21252.01); and the <br />levy of only such property taxes as will be neces- <br />sary to pay the City's share of said benefits, be <br />adopted? <br />
