1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13. 14 15 16 17 18' 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 3628 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARD'INO TO CONSOLIDATE A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL, ELECTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton called a special municipal election in the Ci.,ty of Colton to be held on November 2, 1976,. for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the City of Colton a proposition concerning amending the City of Colton's Employees Retirement Plan as hereinafter set forth; and It is desirable that said special municipal election be consoli- dated with the statewide general election to be held on the same date and that within the City of Colton the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two elections be the same, and that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino canvass the returns of the special municipal election and that said statewide general election and special municipal election be hald in all respects as if there were only one election; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve, determine, and order as follows: SECT°ION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino be and it hereby is requested to consent and agree to the.consolidation of a special municipal election with the statewide general election on Tuesday, the 2nd day of November, 1976, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City of Colton a proposition to appear on the ballot at follows: Shall,the City of Colton's Employees Retirement Plan, originally adopted in 1945, be modified effective July'1, 1977, to provide improved re- tirement benefits to Colton Fire Safety Employees, herein referred to as Local Safety Members, on the basis of discretionary retirement at age 50, with the local safety member receiving a retire- ment of Two Percent (2%) of their final compensa- tion for each year of service (not to exceed Seventy-five Percent (75%)of final compensation) with compulsory retirement at age 60 (see Cali- fornia Government Code Section 21252.01); and the levy of only such property taxes as will be neces- sary to pay the City's share of said benefits, be adopted?
