1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />C <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10.. <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 1 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3629 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE <br />HELD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS <br />OF SAID CITY AN.ORDINANCE RELATING TO AMENDING <br />THE CITY OF CO'LTON'S EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT PLAN <br />AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATE- <br />WIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the legislative body of the City of Colton <br />desires to submit to the qualified voters of said City, a proposed <br />Ordinance relating to amending the City of Colton's Employees <br />Retirement Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton is <br />thereupon authorized and directed by statute to submit the Ordinance <br />to the qualified voters; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of <br />Colton, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND <br />ORDER as follows: <br />SECTION 1. That a special election be held and the <br />same is hereby called to beheld in said City on November 2, <br />1976, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of <br />said City an Ordinance hereinafter set forth relating to amending <br />the City of Colton's Employees Retirement Plan. <br />SECTION 2. The proposed ordinance submitted to the <br />voters shall be as follows: <br />Shall the City of Colton's Employees Retirement Plan, <br />originally adopted in 1945, be modified effective <br />July 1, 1977, to provide improved retirement benefits <br />to Colton Police and Fire Safety Employees, herein <br />referred to as Local Safety Members, on the basis of <br />discretionary retirement at age 50, with the local <br />safety member receiving a retirement of Two Percent <br />(2%) of their final compensation for each year of <br />service (not to exceed Seventy-five Percent (75%) of <br />final compensation) with compulsory retirement at <br />age 60 (see California Government Code Section <br />21252.01); and the levy of only such property taxes <br />as will be necessary to pay the City's share of said <br />benefits, be adopted? <br />SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be opened <br />at seven o'clock A. M. of the day of said election and shall remain open <br />continuously from said time until eight o'clock P. M. of the same day, <br />
