1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 1 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 3630 <br />A RESOLUTION, OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO TO CONSOLIDATE <br />A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON Tb `BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, WITH <br />THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON <br />NOVEMBM 2, 1976, PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 <br />OF THE ELECTIONS CODE. <br />WHEREAS,' the City Council of the City of Colton called a special <br />municipal election in the City of Colton to be held on November 2, 1976, <br />for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the City of Colton <br />a proposition concerning amending the City of Colton's Employees Retirement <br />Plan as hereinafter I;set forth; and <br />It is desirable that said special municipal election be consoli- <br />dated with the statewide general election to be held on the same date and <br />that within the Cityle',of Colton the precincts, polling places and election, <br />officers of the two elections be the same, and that the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of San Bernardino canvass the returns of the special municipal <br />election and that salted statewide general election and special municipal <br />election be ,held in 'all respects as if there were only one election; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does <br />hereby resolve, determine, and order as follows: <br />SECTION That That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 <br />of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San, Bernardino <br />be and it hereby is requested to consent and agree to the consolidation of <br />a municipal special e <br />p p Jelection with the statewide general election on Tuesday,. <br />the 2nd day of November, 1976, for the purpose of submitting to the electors <br />of the City of Colton a proposition to appear on the ballot as follows: <br />Shall the City of Colton's Employees Retirement <br />Plan, orpginally adopted in 1945, be modifiled <br />effective July '1, 1977, to provide improved re- <br />tirementlbenefits to Colton Police and Fire <br />YES <br />Safety Employees, herein referred to as Local <br />Safety Members, on the basis of discretionary <br />retirement at age 50, with the local safety <br />member receiving a retirement of Two Percent <br />(2%) of their final compensation for each year <br />of service (not to exceed Seventy-five Percent <br />(75%) of final compensation) with compulsory' <br />NO <br />retirement at age 60 (see California Government <br />Code Section 21252.01); and the levy of only such <br />property taxes as will be necessary to pay the <br />City's share of said benefits, be adopted? <br />
