A. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY <br />ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />The following rules are effective within the City of Colton as <br />approved by the City Council. <br />The City's Customer Service Policy for supplying electric service, <br />rate schedules, and various instructions may be revised, amended, <br />superseded, supplemented, or otherwise changed from time to time. <br />Copies of the rules in effect will be kept up-to-date and on file <br />in the office of the City Clerk. Consumers or others contemplating <br />any expenditures or activities governed by these rules should <br />assure themselves that they have the latest correct information by <br />visiting, telephoning or otherwise contacting the Electric Department. <br />1. For the purpose of these rules, the following terms shall be <br />construed to have the following meanings: <br />a. Applicant: A person, persons, association, government <br />agency, corporation or other concern who indicates a desire <br />to obtain electric service from the Department. <br />b. Billing Demand: The kilowatt demand used for computing <br />demand charges under rate schedules based on the size of <br />the customer's load or demand as specified in the applicable <br />rate schedule. <br />C. City: City of Colton. <br />d. Connected Load: The sum of the rated capacities of all <br />of the customer's equipment that can be connected to the <br />Department's lines at any one time as more completely <br />described in the rate schedules. <br />e. Consumer: The person, persons, association, corporation, <br />governmental agency or other concern who uses or is entitled <br />to use electricity from the Department. <br />f. Distribution Lines: Overhead pole lines and/or underground <br />facilities consisting of conduit and cable which are operated <br />at nominal distribution voltages. <br />g. HP: Horsepower. <br />h. KW: Kilowatt. <br />i. KWH: Kilowatt-hour. <br />j. Line Extension: All facilities, excluding transformer, <br />service connection, and meter, required to extend electric <br />service from the Department's existing permanent facilities <br />to the point of delivery to the customer. <br />I <br />
