A. CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT CITY OF COLTON The following rules are effective within the City of Colton as approved by the City Council. The City's Customer Service Policy for supplying electric service, rate schedules, and various instructions may be revised, amended, superseded, supplemented, or otherwise changed from time to time. Copies of the rules in effect will be kept up-to-date and on file in the office of the City Clerk. Consumers or others contemplating any expenditures or activities governed by these rules should assure themselves that they have the latest correct information by visiting, telephoning or otherwise contacting the Electric Department. 1. For the purpose of these rules, the following terms shall be construed to have the following meanings: a. Applicant: A person, persons, association, government agency, corporation or other concern who indicates a desire to obtain electric service from the Department. b. Billing Demand: The kilowatt demand used for computing demand charges under rate schedules based on the size of the customer's load or demand as specified in the applicable rate schedule. C. City: City of Colton. d. Connected Load: The sum of the rated capacities of all of the customer's equipment that can be connected to the Department's lines at any one time as more completely described in the rate schedules. e. Consumer: The person, persons, association, corporation, governmental agency or other concern who uses or is entitled to use electricity from the Department. f. Distribution Lines: Overhead pole lines and/or underground facilities consisting of conduit and cable which are operated at nominal distribution voltages. g. HP: Horsepower. h. KW: Kilowatt. i. KWH: Kilowatt-hour. j. Line Extension: All facilities, excluding transformer, service connection, and meter, required to extend electric service from the Department's existing permanent facilities to the point of delivery to the customer.
