1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />i <br />23 i <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3744 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON REQUESTING CONSIDERATION <br />FOR TITLE IX FUNDING FROM THE ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION. <br />WHEREAS, Kaiser Steel Corporation has been a major employer of <br />residents of Colton and other nearby cities; and <br />WHEREAS, Kaiser Steel has recently reduced its employee work <br />force with a resultant increase in this area's already high unemployment rate; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Economic Development Administration Title IX funding <br />grants are available to aid areas where catastrophe employment reductions occur. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Colton that consideration from EDA for Title IX funding be given by EDA. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that our neighboring cities affected by <br />this employment situation, the City of Fontana, City of Ontario, and City of <br />Rialto, join with the City of Colton in petitioning EDA Title IX funding con- <br />sideration. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of November, 1977. <br />r <br />ABE E.
