6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9. <br />I <br />10 <br />ll <br />12 <br />13 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3798 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON ACCEPTING AN ECONOMIC DE- <br />VELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION, UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE OFFER OF GRANT FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION OF SPINE ROAD (MT. VERNON <br />AVENUE) IN THE CITY OF COLTON. <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Commerce, Economic De- <br />velopment Administration has offered a grant not to exceed $975,000 for construct <br />ing and equipping a Spine Road (Mt. Vernon Avenue) in the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is desirous, of making improvements to <br />a portion of Mt. Vernon Avenue in order to encourage development and job oppor- <br />tunities within the City of Colton and <br />WHEREAS, Assessment District 78-1 is being formed to facilitate <br />full construction of all improvements to that same portion of Mt. Vernon Avenue <br />14 iin the City of Colton; and <br />15 WHEREAS, the City of Colton feels this project has a very high <br />16 priority as it will well benefit the people of Colton who have a very high unem- <br />17 ployment rate which can be well mitigated by the resultant development in the <br />18 project area. <br />19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City <br />20 of Colton hereby accepts the offer of $975,000 grant for assistance in construe <br />21 tion of a portion of Mt. Vernon Avenue in the City of Colton. <br />22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be authorized to sign the <br />23 offer of grant forms notifying the Economic Development Administration, United <br />24 States Department of Commerce of the City of Colton's willingness to accept this <br />25 Federal Assistance and comply with necessaryfederal regulations and.grant con - <br />26 ditions. <br />27 <br />28 <br />
