1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />61 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />lI <br />12 <br />13 <br />14' <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4354 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON PERTAINING TO PAYMENT OF MEMBER CON- <br />TRIBUTION TO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT <br />SYSTEM. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a member of the Public <br />Employees' Retirement System and presently provides by contract <br />for a reduction of normal member contribution rate pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 20614 Statutes of 1978; and <br />WHEREAS, consideration is being given to prospectively <br />revoking said Section 20614 Statutes of 1978 for local miscel- <br />laneous members and Fire Safety members; and <br />WHEREAS, such action would result in the creation of a <br />member contribution rate of 7% of miscellaneous members' earn - <br />Ings and 9% of Fire Safety members' earnings, exclusive of over- <br />time; and <br />WHEREAS, an election of the affected employees is re- <br />quired in order to make such change; and <br />WHEREAS, under the present PERS Contract, there is no <br />deduction from such employee's wages for contributions to PERS; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, there is now in effect Memorandums of Under- <br />standing between the City and representatives of the General Em- <br />ployees and Fire Employees pursuant to which such an amendment <br />of the PERS Contract is called for and also providing that all <br />terms and conditions of employment shall remain unchanged through <br />the term of the agreement which expires December 31, 1983. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton <br />
