That the cost of the construction, as set forth <br />in said Reports, shall be assessed against the property therein des- <br />cribed, <br />e -cribed, which property fronts upon the improvements so constructed. <br />SECTION .4. That if such assessment is not paid within the <br />time permitted by law the same shall constitute a special assessment <br />and lien against the property therein described, in the amount set <br />forth in said Reports, which lien shall continue until the assessment <br />and all interest thereon is paid. <br />SECTION 5. That if the assessment is not paid within the <br />time permitted, the City Clerk shall deliver a Notice of Lien signed <br />by the Superintendent of Streets, as provided in Section 5891 of the <br />Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to the Count <br />Assessor and Tax Collector, who, in accordance with applicable law, <br />shall collect said assessment, together with all other taxes relating <br />to such property. <br />SECTION 6. That the interest rate of seven percent (7%) <br />per annum is hereby fixed as the rate of interest to be paid to the <br />City upon the amount due for the unpaid assessment. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of February, <br />1984. <br />ALBEHT A.
