4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4503 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON ADOPTING <br />RULES FOR THE PURCHASE, SALE AND WHEELING OF <br />ELECTRICITY GENERATED BY QUALIFYING FACILITIES. <br />WHEREAS, Congress enacted the Public Utility Regulatory <br />Policy Act (PURPA) as part of the national energy legislation in <br />1978 designed to lessen the United States dependence on limited <br />oil and natural gas supplies, particularly imports and to encour- <br />age use of renewable fuels, waste and industrial by-products, and <br />high-efficientprocesses for the generation of electricity and, <br />pursuant thereto, electric utilities must interconnect their elec- <br />trical systems to Qualifying Facilities, thereby allowing the latt-- <br />er ready physical access to markets for electricity, and electric <br />utilities must purchase all electricity generated and offered for <br />,sale by Qualifying Facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton operates its own electrical <br />department and purchases and sells electrical energy. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON RE- <br />SOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />That the Rules for the purchase, sale and wheeling of ele(- <br />tricity generated by Qualifying Facilities, attached hereto, are <br />hereby adopted. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of August, 1982. <br />ALBERT A.
