2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13' 14 15 16 17 18! 19 20 2111 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 4536 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLTON APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING DATED AS OF DECEMBER 19, 1984 AND A SUPPLEMENTAL LETTER AGREEMENT RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CALIFORNIA -OREGON TRANSMISSION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF COLTON WHEREAS, certain studies have been carried out to determine methods of developing additional transmission facilities between California and the Pacific Northwest; and WHEREAS, Public Law 98-360 authorizes the Secretary of Energy to participate in the construction of additional transmission facilities which would allow beneficial power sales between California and the Pacific Northwest; and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding presented at this meeting sets forth certain principles for the development of the California -Oregon Transmission Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the development of the Project will provide mutual benefits to the Utilities in California and the Pacific Northwest; and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding provides for the City of Colton to share in the capability of the Project NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by: the City Council of the City of Colton , that the terms and conditions of the Memorandum of Understanding and the Supplemental Letter Agreement be and they are hereby approved in the form substantially as presented to the "City Council at this meeting. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute said Memorandum of Understanding and the Related Supplemental Letter Agreement with such changes as may be approved by the Mayor in accord with the preceding paragraph by and on behalf of the City of Colton This Resolution is signed and roved this 18th day of December, 1984.
