EXHIBIT "A" <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program <br />Fiscal Year 2005-2006 <br />Project Proposal Applications <br />1. City of Colton -Community Services Department—Family Services Division, <br />"Senior Citizens Outreach Program Education & Equipment," $14,150: <br />CDBG funds will be use to purchase and replace tables and chairs, new <br />computers, a multipurpose printer, computer training tables and chairs, <br />supplies, and a new Bingo board and blower, for the City's Senior Citizens <br />Outreach Program at the Hutton Center. <br />2. City of Colton -Community Services Department—Early Childhood Education <br />Division, "Child Care Subsidy Program," $78,000: The Early Childhood <br />Education Division is requesting CDBG funds to subsidize child care costs for <br />low-income families that will be served by the Colton Cares Child <br />Development Center located at 575 Carreon Street. <br />3. City of Colton Police Department -Colton Police Activities League, "Colton <br />Police Activities League (PAL)," $30,000: The Colton Police Activities <br />League (PAL) is requesting CDBG funds to continue the Youth Recreation <br />Program for at -risk youth, ages 8 to 18. PAL is a juvenile crime prevention <br />program, organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, sponsored by the <br />Colton Police Department. Police officers and civilian volunteers will operate <br />sports oriented programs in the areas of baseball, ATV and motorcycle <br />training, martial arts, boxing, and will also sponsor youths in a boot camp <br />CART (Colton At Risk Teen) Program. <br />4. City of Colton Police Department -Colton Police Activities League, "Youth <br />Sports Center Interior Rehabilitation," $130,000: The Colton Police <br />Activities League (PAL) is requesting CDBG funds to rehabilitate and <br />construct interior improvements to an existing building that will be purchased <br />and serve as a Youth Sports Center. PAL has submitted an application to the <br />State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities Grant Program for funds to <br />purchase the building located adjacent to Cesar Chavez Community Park <br />where PAL programs are currently provided. The Youth Sports Center will <br />house all programs and will provide office space for PAL. A list of the <br />proposed interior improvements is attached. <br />5. City of Colton -Engineering Department, "South Colton Street <br />Improvements—Ash, Berry, Cedar, Congress, Kirk, and Pine Streets," <br />$329,000: The project would include the installation of missing curb, gutter, <br />sidewalks, cross -gutters, and installation of handicap ramps on Ash, Berry, <br />Cedar, Congress, Kirk, and Pine Streets in South Colton. The area to be <br />improved is located in Census Tract 69. <br />
