EXHIBIT "A" CITY OF COLTON PLANNING DEPARTMENT Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Fiscal Year 2005-2006 Project Proposal Applications 1. City of Colton -Community Services Department—Family Services Division, "Senior Citizens Outreach Program Education & Equipment," $14,150: CDBG funds will be use to purchase and replace tables and chairs, new computers, a multipurpose printer, computer training tables and chairs, supplies, and a new Bingo board and blower, for the City's Senior Citizens Outreach Program at the Hutton Center. 2. City of Colton -Community Services Department—Early Childhood Education Division, "Child Care Subsidy Program," $78,000: The Early Childhood Education Division is requesting CDBG funds to subsidize child care costs for low-income families that will be served by the Colton Cares Child Development Center located at 575 Carreon Street. 3. City of Colton Police Department -Colton Police Activities League, "Colton Police Activities League (PAL)," $30,000: The Colton Police Activities League (PAL) is requesting CDBG funds to continue the Youth Recreation Program for at -risk youth, ages 8 to 18. PAL is a juvenile crime prevention program, organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, sponsored by the Colton Police Department. Police officers and civilian volunteers will operate sports oriented programs in the areas of baseball, ATV and motorcycle training, martial arts, boxing, and will also sponsor youths in a boot camp CART (Colton At Risk Teen) Program. 4. City of Colton Police Department -Colton Police Activities League, "Youth Sports Center Interior Rehabilitation," $130,000: The Colton Police Activities League (PAL) is requesting CDBG funds to rehabilitate and construct interior improvements to an existing building that will be purchased and serve as a Youth Sports Center. PAL has submitted an application to the State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities Grant Program for funds to purchase the building located adjacent to Cesar Chavez Community Park where PAL programs are currently provided. The Youth Sports Center will house all programs and will provide office space for PAL. A list of the proposed interior improvements is attached. 5. City of Colton -Engineering Department, "South Colton Street Improvements—Ash, Berry, Cedar, Congress, Kirk, and Pine Streets," $329,000: The project would include the installation of missing curb, gutter, sidewalks, cross -gutters, and installation of handicap ramps on Ash, Berry, Cedar, Congress, Kirk, and Pine Streets in South Colton. The area to be improved is located in Census Tract 69.
