R-151-05 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF ONE APPLICATION FOR THE <br />CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE BOARD MANAGEMENT TIRE - <br />DERIVED PRODUCT GRANT REQUESTING $100,000 IN GRANT <br />FUNDING. <br />WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted Assembly Bill 1843 <br />(Brown Statues of 1989, Chapter 974) that provides grants to public entities involved in <br />activities that result in reduced landfill disposal of used whole tired and reduced illegal <br />disposal or stockpiling of used whole tires; and; <br />WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated <br />the responsibility for the administration of the program for the State, setting up necessary <br />procedures governing program application; and <br />WHEREAS, if awarded a grant, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the <br />State of California for development of the project; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO HEREBY <br />RESOLVE that the City of Colton authorizes the submittal of an application to the California <br />Integrated Waste Management Board for the 2005/2006 Tire Derived Product Grant <br />Program. The City Manager of the City of Colton is hereby authorized and empowered to <br />execute in the name of the City of Colton all necessary documents, including but no limited <br />to, application, agreements, amendments, and payment request necessary to secure grant <br />funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 15th DAY OF NOVEMBER 2005. <br />"A -LQ, �6- <br />IDE RDRE H.
