R-157-05 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />CLARIFYING AND APPROVING RETIREE MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR <br />FORMER FIRE CHIEF <br />WHEREAS, the City entered into an Employment Agreement on June 30, 2003, with <br />Thomas T. Hendrix to serve as Fire Chief, which Agreement was amended by an Addendum <br />dated November 13, 2003; and <br />WHEREAS, the Addendum provided Chief Hendrix (and defined dependents) with, <br />among otherthings, retiree medical benefits with a monthly City -paid premium of at least$823.50 <br />for life; and <br />WHEREAS, the Addendum was never formally approved by the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, Chief Hendrix dutifully served in his position as Fire Chief pursuant to the <br />terms of the Employment Agreement and Addendum until he retired effective December 31, <br />2003. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council formally approves the Addendum to former Chief <br />Hendrix's Employment Agreement. <br />2. Formal approval of Addendum shall be retroactive to the date of its <br />execution, November 13, 2003. <br />3.
