R-23-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF HUNTS LANE (WEST SIDE ONLY) BETWEEN COMMERCIAL ROAD AND CLUB CENTER DRIVE FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE (5) DAYS FROM APRIL 3, 2005 TO APRIL 7, 2005, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REPAIRING THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD TRACK. WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 2110(e) provides that "Local authorities, for those highways under their jurisdiction, may adopt rules and regulations by ordinance or resolution on ... Temporarily closing a portion of a street for celebrations, parades ... and other purposes, when in the opinion of local authorities, the closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who use that portion of the street during the temporary closing;" and WHEREAS, as part of the Union Pacific Railroad Company railroad track repair project, Advanced Warnings has been hired to maintain the traffic control of the project; and WHEREAS, the temporary closure of Hunts Lane (west side only), between Commercial Road to Club Center Drive for a period of five days from April 3, 2005 to April 7, 2005 is necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare during the railroad repair project ; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Colton agrees to the following: Section 1. The City of Colton City Council hereby authorizes the temporary closure of Hunts Lane (west side only), between Commercial Road to Club Center Drive for a period of five (5) days from April 3, 2005 to April 7, 2005. Signs identifying the temporary closure and indicating the detour route to be used shall be posted to inform the public.
