1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />equipment; and ensure funding to mitigate locomotive air pollution by creating additional <br />grade separations between rail lines and local surface streets to reduce emissions from <br />idling trains, and for programs to address accompanying health effects from diesel <br />emissions; and ensure that emissions from rail yard equipment impacting local communities <br />will be controlled; and ensure that high polluting locomotives in the state will be identified <br />and that appropriate repairs will be requested. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON HEREBY urges California Legislators to enact Assembly Bill 1222; Assembly Bill <br />888; and Senate Bill 459; as proposed, and further urges the Governor to sign each of <br />these Bills into State Law without delay. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution, communicating the City of <br />Colton's support for Locomotive and Rail Yard Emissions Reduction and Mitigations Bills– <br />AB1222 (Jones), AB888 (De La Torre) and SB459 (Romero)—will be sent to Governor <br />Arnold Schwarzenegger, State Capitol Bldg., Sacramento, CA 95814, Senator Nell Soto, <br />State Capitol, Room 4074, Sacramento, CA 95814, Assembly Member Joe Baca, Jr. State <br />Capitol, Room 2160, Sacramento, CA 94249-0062, and South Coast Air Quality <br />Management District, 21865 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765-4178. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5 th day of April, 2005. <br />D"EIRDRE H.
