R-53-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON OVERTURNING THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S APPROVAL AND DENYING, WITHOUT PREJUDICE, A MAJOR VARIANCE TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF TWENTY FOOT TALL ELECTRONIC READER BOARD SIGN ON A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY: FILE INDEX NO. DAP -000-322 WHEREAS, an application was filed by Giant RV to approve a major variance to permit the construction of a twenty foot tall electronic reader board sign ("Project") on property generally located at the northeast corner of south Mount Vernon and Santo Antonio Drive ("Subject Site"); and WHEREAS, the Application was referred to all affected public agencies for review and consideration; and WHEREAS, the Application was reviewed, studied, and found to be consistent with the City's adopted General Plan; and WHEREAS, on January 11, 2005, January 25, 2005 and February 11, 2005 and February 22, 2005, the Planning Commission of the City of Colton ("Planning Commission") conducted duly noticed public hearings on the Application at which time all persons wishing to testify in connection with the proposed Application were heard, and the Application was comprehensively reviewed and approved; and WHEREAS, on March 2, 2005 the City Clerk received a request for review filed by two City Council members pursuant to Colton Municipal Code, Section 18.58.070(C)(8) and on March 3, 2005, the City Clerk also received an appeal request from the Applicants; and WHEREAS, on April 5, 2005 and May 3, 2005 the City Council of the City of Colton ("City Council") conducted duly noticed public hearings and meetings on the Application at which time all persons wishing to testify in connection with the proposed Application were heard, and the Application was comprehensively reviewed; and ORANGE\MXM\17387.1 -1-
