R-67-05 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR <br />THE FISCAL YEAR 2005-06 <br />WHEREAS, the voters of California, on November 6, 1979, added Article XIII -B to the <br />State Constitution placing various limitations on the appropriations of the state and local <br />I governments; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII -B provides that the appropriations limit for the fiscal year <br />2005-06 is calculated by adjusting the base year appropriations of fiscal year 1978-79 for <br />changes in the cost of living and population; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton has complied with all the provisions of Article XIII -B in <br />determining the appropriations limit for fiscal year 2005-06 utilizing the County population <br />index; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Colton must make the necessary determinations regarding <br />the use of a cost -of -living index change and the population index change beginning in 2005- <br />9 . <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriations limit for fiscal year <br />2005-06 shall be $46,378,712 for the City of Colton, and; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the fiscal year 2005-06, the City of Colton selects <br />the California percentage change in per capita income as its cost -of -living index change as <br />determined by the California State Department of Finance and that the City of Colton selects <br />the population index change for the County as a whole instead of the change in City <br />population as its population index change. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 7t" DAY OF JUNE, 2005. <br />A T: <br />AROLINA P.
