I RESOLUTION NO. R-72-05 <br />2 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, AUTHORIZING THE <br />3 SUBMISSION OF TWO APPLICATIONS FOR THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS <br />GRANT PROGRAM. <br />4 <br />5 WHEREAS, the Safe Route To Schools Program provides funds for safety <br />6 improvements near schools to encourage students to walk or bike to school; <br />7 WHEREAS, Caltrans solicits Safe Route to Schools Grant Program projects from <br />8 local agencies on an annual basis; and <br />9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton is dedicated to improving the <br />10 street infrastructure; <br />11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO <br />12 HEREBY RESOLVE authorization for submittal of two Safe Route to Schools Grant <br />Program applications. <br />13 <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 21St DAY OF JUNE 2005. <br />14 <br />15 <br />DEIRDRE H'BENIIETT, <br />16 MAYOR <br />17 <br />ATTEST: <br />18 <br />19 <br />CAROLINA P.
