1 <br />2 7. The City also wishes to relieve traffic congestions in this area. <br />3 WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the plans for the proposed <br />4 intersection and has determined that the proposed stop sign is the best way, given the <br />5 City's resources, to provide protection for motorists and pedestrians who use this <br />6 intersection. <br />7 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: <br />8 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Colton hereby adopts the recitals <br />9 contained in this resolution as findings in support of the placement of a stop sign at the <br />intersection of La Cadena Drive approaching Barton Road. <br />10 <br />SECTION 2: Resolution No. 2119 is hereby amended by adding the <br />11 intersection of La Cadena Drive approaching Barton Road from the north and south to <br />the list of intersections containing stop signs. Said stop sign shall be placed and <br />12 maintained by the City of Colton Public Works Department, Engineering Division. <br />13 SECTION 3: If any provision or clause of this Resolution or any application of <br />14 it to any person, firm, organization, partnership or corporation is held invalid, such <br />invalidity shall not affect other provisions of this Resolution which can be given effect <br />15 without the invalid provision or application. To this end, the provisions of this <br />Resolution are declared to be severable. <br />16 <br />SECTION 4: The City Council hereby finds and determines that it can be seen <br />17 with certainty that there is no possibility that this Resolution may have a significant <br />adverse effect on the environment. Thus, the adoption of this Resolution is exempt <br />18 from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources <br />Code §§ 21000 et seg.) ("CEQA") pursuant to Section 152820) and 15301 of the CEQA <br />19 Guidelines. Staff is directed to file a Notice of Exemption with the San Bernardino <br />20 County Clerk's Office within five (5) working days of the adoption of this Resolution. <br />21 SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br />adoption. <br />22 <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 1st day of August, 2006. <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 DEIRDRE H.
