R-160-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 2007 TO FILL A VACANCY OF AN ELECTIVE OFFICE WHEREAS, a vacancy in the elected office of Councilmember, District 3, occurred on, r Dece ber 5, 2006; and REA overnment Code Section 36512 provides that vacancies in an elective office may b ZdVelling a special election, to be held on the next regularly established election date not s tn 1 days from the call of the special election; and WHEREAS, rsua t Government Code section 36512 and Elections Code section 1000, the City C ncil desires to hold a special election on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, for the purpose of filling they unci mb r, District 3, vacancy. BE IT NOW THEREFO RE OL AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Cou it h a special election to be held in the City of Colton, California on Tuesday, June 5, 07. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is he by a ho ed, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices rioted matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to operly and lawfully conduct the election. SECTION 3. The polls for the election sha be open at 7:00 o'clock a.m. of the day of the election and shall remain open continuously fr that time until 8:00 o'clock p.m. of the same day when the polls shall be closed. SECTION 4. In all particulars not recited in this Res ution, the election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal electio . SECTION 5. Notice of the time and place of the holding the election is given and 6 the City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to give further o additional notice of the 7 election in time, form and manner as required by law. 1
