R-77-06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS <br />LIMIT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2006-07 <br />WHEREAS, the voters of California, on November 6, 1979, added <br />Article XIII -B to the State Constitution placing various limitations on the appropriations <br />of the state and local governments; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII -B provides that the appropriations limit for <br />the fiscal year 2006-07 is calculated by adjusting the base year appropriations of fiscal <br />year 1978-79 for changes in the cost of living and population; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton has complied with all the provisions of <br />Article XIII -B in determining the appropriations limit for fiscal year 2006-07 utilizing the <br />County population index; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Colton must make the necessary determinations <br />regarding the use of a cost -of -living index change and the population index change <br />beginning in 2006-07 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriations <br />limit for fiscal year 2006-07 shall be $50,162,901 for the City of Colton, and; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the fiscal year 2006-07, the City of <br />Colton selects the California percentage change in per capita income as its cost -of -living <br />index change as determined by the California State Department of Finance and that the <br />City of Colton selects the population index change for the County as a whole instead of the <br />change in City population as its population index change. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTEDTHIS20TH DAY /OFyJUNE, 2006. <br />DEIRDRE H.
