R-24-99 ADOPTED ON MARCH 16, 1999 AND RESCINDING ALL OTHER PREVIOUS ACTIONS REGARDING THE MONTHLY HOME OFFICE EXPENSE ALLOWANCE FOR CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS WHEREAS, on March 16, 1999, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R-24-99, which established a home office expense allowance for City Council Members in the amount of $75 per month; and WHEREAS, the State of California adopted Assembly Bill 1234 which became effective on January 1, 2006 and established new limitations and requirements regarding reimbursement of City Council Members' expenses; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to complywith the requirements of Assembly Bill 1234 and therefore wishes to rescind its previous actions and repeal its adoption of Resolution No. R-24-99 regarding the home office expense allowance for City Council Members. BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby rescinds all previous actions regarding the adoption of the monthly home office expense allowance for City Council Members and repeals all relevant portions of Resolution No. R-24-99. SECTION 2. The City Council directs staff to make all necessary changes in the City's financial and accounting procedures to implement this action. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall repeal any other resolutions or portions thereof to the extent that such resolutions or portions thereof are in conflict with this Resolution. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
