R-36-07 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF AN AWARD FROM FIRST 5 SAN <br />BERNARDINO. <br />WHEREAS, First 5 San Bernardino has offered an award of an Outdoor Playground <br />Environment in an amount not to exceed $50,000, to the City of Colton, Sierra Vista State <br />Preschool (SVSP) site for quality improvement of the outdoor playground facilities; and, <br />WHEREAS, the lives of children and their families at SVSP, as well as the local <br />community, will be enhanced by a playground environment that is safer, developmentally <br />appropriate, and that will promote physical activities for young children; and, <br />WHEREAS, the budget for the City of Colton, SVSP for the Fiscal Year <br />commencing July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007 will not be affected by the acceptance <br />of this award. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Colton hereby approves and accepts <br />the award of an outdoor playground environment from First 5 San Bernardino. <br />SECTION 2: The Colton City Manager is hereby authorized to sign all documents <br />necessary to execute this agreement. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of March, 2007. <br />KELLY J.
