City Manage <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid on Street Sweeper Brooms and Date: February 23, <br />Parts for One Year, Commencing on April 1, 1988 <br />{ <br />Through March 31, 1989 <br />On February 11, 1988, we advertised for bids on a one year <br />contract for Street Sweeper Brooms and Parts on an as <br />required basis for the period April 1, 1988 through March 31, <br />1989. An open purchase.order is to be established for this <br />requirement <br />Bid opening was held at 3:00 P.M., February 22, 1988, in the <br />Electric Department conference room.. We only received one <br />bid on, this requirement even though we sent out four bid <br />packages to interested vendors. The one bid received is from <br />San Diego Rotary Broom who bid to hold current prices for the <br />one year period. A Bid Analysis is attached showing the <br />quoted prices for the most commonly used brooms. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that bid award be made to <br />San Diego Rotary Broom and that an open purchase order be <br />established for the period of one year. <br />Report prepared by K.
