City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Two -Year Water Meter Contract to Date: December 12, 1988' <br />Western Water Meter Co. for an Estimated Amount of <br />$141,968.98 <br />On November 17, 1988, we advertised for quotations for a two year contract to purchase <br />-water meters for the Water Division. Bid opening.was held at 2:00 p.m., November 28, <br />1988 in, the Electric Department Conference Room. Three bids were received and a Bid <br />Analysis is attached showing price and delivery with the recommended vendor's price <br />underlined <br />Staff reviewed all bids and only the recommended vendor's bid met all of the City's <br />specifications Badger Meter, Inc. did not bid on the 1Z" meters and only guaranteed <br />their prices for one year. Valley Cities Supply Co. did not meet specifications for <br />their l" meters. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award to Western Water Meter Co. for an estimated <br />amount of $141,968.98 for a two year contract. <br />Report Prepared 8y: K:L.
