Staff reports or other written documentation relating to each item <br />referred to on the Agenda are on file in the Office of the City Clerk <br />and are available for public inspection. <br />Any person having questions concerning any item on the Agenda may call <br />the City Clerk at 370-5034, to make inquiry concerning the nature of <br />the item described on the Agenda. The City Clerk shall direct inquir- <br />ies to the appropriate office. <br />PROCEDURES FOR ADDRESSING CITY COUNCIL <br />Please obtain a card from the City Clerk and fill out, noting item <br />number of Agenda, or address City Council under Oral Communications <br />portion of Agenda. <br />The City Council encourages public input on all City issues within the <br />Rules of Decorum as follows: <br />DECORUM AND ORDER <br />To help conduct the business of the City Council in an orderly fashion, <br />the City Council has adopted rules pertaining to Decorum and Order. <br />The City Council will strictly enforce these rules in order to allow <br />full expresion of ideas and opinion by citizens, staff or Legal Counsel. <br />". The rules are summarized below: <br />Unauthorized remarks from the audience, stamping of feet, <br />whistles, clapping, yells, and similar demonstrations shall not <br />be permitted by the Presiding Officer. Any disrupting demon- <br />strations shall be cause for the Chief of Police to clear the <br />Council Chambers or to remove individual offenders upon direction <br />from the Presiding Officer. <br />Any person who verbally attacks other individuals, groups, or <br />city officials, or otherwise becomes boisterous while addressing <br />the Council, or while attending the Council Meeting, shall be <br />ruled out of order by the Presiding Officer. If someone begins <br />to make impertinent or slanderous remarks, the Presiding Officer <br />(or the City Manager or City Attorney at the direction of the <br />Presiding Officer) will instruct the person to follow the Council <br />rules. If the person does not cease, the Presiding Officer will <br />instruct the Chief of Police to remove the person from the Council <br />Chambers and bar him/her from further audience before the Council. <br />2 <br />
