CITY OF COLTON
REPORTAGENDA
For Council Meeting of Qctober 26 , 1988
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: LESLIE A. KEANE, Asst. City Manager *--
SUBJECT: Reject All Bids Received on Water Meters for the
Public Works Water Division
Date: October 19, 1988
On September 15, 1988, we advertised for quotations for Positive Displacement Water
Meters for the Water Division. Bid opening was held at 2:00 p.m., October 3, 1988,
at the General Services office. Four bids were received and were evaluated by staff.
After the bids were opened, a vendor pointed out that a part of the specification was
not clear, which could result in a bid award that may not be in the best interest of
the City. Upon review by staff, it was determined that the specification could
be read in that manners and that the best alternative would be to reject all bids and
re -advertise after correcting the deficiency in the specification.
RECOMMENDATION: Reject all bids received on the Water Meter Bid and re -advertise.
Report Prepared by: K.L. Peterson, General Services Manager
s'
CITY MANAGER CONCURRENCE
Attachments:
Page 1 of 1 Item No. I/
