City Manager/-]\ <br />SUBJECT: <br />Rejection of Bid for $114,713.00 receiv d Date: August 30,1988 <br />from Russell Tourville Construction to Renovate <br />—tom <br />On August 4 and 11, 1988, we advertised for quotations to provide <br />renovation of the old court facility to offices ,for the <br />Department.Police <br />Bid opening was held d at 2:00 p.m.,:August .25, 1988, in <br />the City Council Chambers. <br />I <br />The only bid received for this project was from Russell Tourville <br />Construction in the amount of $114,713.00 which is $34,713.00 <br />over our estimate -ofthe project. Staff feels that the estimate <br />j is a good estimate and that a bid 30% higher isnot realistic and <br />should not be awarded. <br />I RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the bid from Russell Tourville <br />Construction for $114,713.00 be rejected and that the project be re- <br />bid. <br />i <br />Report Prepared by: K.
