KEANE, City Manager% ` <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Annual Contract for Auto- Date: <br />June 13, 1989 <br />motive Batteries to MK Battery in the <br />Estimated Amount of $3,861.62. <br />On May 18, 1989, we advertised for annual automotive battery require <br />F meats as generated by various City departments. The period of this <br />contract will be July 1, 1989 through June 30, 1990. Bid opeing was <br />held at 2:30 P.M., June 7, 1989, in the General Services Office. <br />Four bids were received for this requirement. A Bid Analysis is <br />attached which reflects estimated total cost, discount terms, and <br />delivery. The recommended vendor'sprice <br />is be noted that the estimated price of the contract risnbelowlthe1ll $5,000 <br />i <br />limation which requires Council approval,*however, it is Staff opinion <br />that Council approval would be prudent: in this instance as any addition- <br />al requirements generated over and above our annual estimate could re- <br />sult in the total cost of the contract exceeding the $5,000 limitation. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that bid award be made to MK Battery <br />in the estimated amount of $3,861.62. <br />Report Prepared By: <br />Atta h <br />M,.
