INTERAGENCY FUNDING AGREEMENT <br />FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A <br />SANTA ANA RIVER CORRIDOR MASTER PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the Santa Ana River Corridor is a valuable linear open <br />space and recreation resource, which -will prove to be a <br />sound investment for public health, welfare, and <br />enjoyment for generations to come; and <br />WHEREAS, the agencies along the Santa Ana River Corridor have <br />determined that the development of a master plan for <br />recreation trails and related facilities for riding, <br />hiking and bicycling (Master Plan) in the river <br />corridor is a beneficial and necessary project that <br />should be accomplished through an interagency funding <br />agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the goals of the agencies that will be parties to this <br />interagency agreement include utilization of the river <br />corridor as recreational trail system, conservation and <br />protection of its natural resources so as to minimize <br />the impact on biologically sensitive areas and unique <br />and sensitive plant communities, preservation and <br />interpretation of the corridor's scenic beauty; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties to this interagency agreement are those <br />agencies executing this agreement as identified on <br />signature pages attached hereto, which may include but <br />are not necessarily limited to: the Counties of San <br />Bernardino, Riverside, Orange; the Cities of Redlands, <br />San Bernardino, Highland, Loma Linda, Colton, Rialto, <br />Fontana, Chino Hills (County Service Area 19), <br />Riverside, Corona, Norco, and Anaheim (hereinafter <br />jointly and severally referred to as Parties); and <br />WHEREAS, coordination of planning for the Santa Ana River <br />development shall be encouraged through the Santa Ana <br />-1- <br />
