Keane, Assistant City Manage <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid to .Colton Truck Terminal for Date: May 11, 1989 <br />Rebuild of Engine for Sanitation Vehicle in <br />the Amount of $10,800.00. <br />On <br />April 28 1989 <br />P �, we advertised for quotations to rebuild <br />an engine for Sanitation vehicle #220. In addition, six bid <br />packages were sent to prospective bidders on our bidder's <br />list. Bid opening was sheduled for 2:00 P.M., May 9, 1989. <br />No bids were received on this requirement. <br />We have received two informal quotes from engine rebuild <br />facilities who were willing to quote on this particular <br />engine.. All other :facilities contacted preferred not to <br />quote to rebuild a Mack Corporation engine. The two quotes <br />are as follows <br />Colton Truck Terminal --------------------$10,800.00 <br />Universal Mack, Inc --- <br />--------------- $12,500.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Council award a bid to <br />Colton Truck Terminal to rebuild _the subject engine. <br />Report prepared by Kenneth L.
