Keane, City Manager <br />j�� <br />SUBJECT: Rejection of Bids Received on a Digger <br />Derrick for the Electric Department. <br />I_ <br />Date • September 12, 1989 <br />�i On August 17, 1989, we advertised for quotations on a Digger <br />Derrick for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held at <br />2:00 P.M.,,'September 11, 1989,in the Electric Department Conference <br />Room. A Bid Analysis form is attached showing price and delivery <br />Of the bids received. <br />Two companies bid on this requirement. Pac Power's bid on a , <br />28,0001b derrick did not meet sepcifications which was for a <br />48,0001b derrick. West Coast iUtility Equipment Company submitted <br />two bids. Their primary bid, which met all specifications, was <br />$60,000 over budget. They submitted an alternate bid which did <br />not meet s'pecifications.for major equipment needs on the utility <br />body. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that all bids be rejected and <br />the requirement be re -advertised with revised specifications. <br />Report prepared by K.
