KEANE, City Manage <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Various Transformers to Date: August 28, 1989 <br />Pauwels Transformers in the Amount of $25,565.08 <br />and.WESCO Utility in the Amount of $6,158.60 <br />On August 3, 1989, we advertised for quotations for various transformers <br />for the Electric Department. Bid.opening was held at 3:00 p.m., August 2.1, <br />1989-, in the General Services office. Four bids.were received and evalu- <br />ated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended: vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price for those transformers only is listed at the <br />bottom. <br />Also attached, is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was done <br />on the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transfor- <br />mer over it's lifetime, usinga combination of load calculations sup- <br />plied by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the <br />vendor. The results -of this evaluation determine the recommended vendor.. <br />The lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is underlined. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award on Items 1, 3 and 4 to Pauwels <br />Transformers in the amount of $25,,565.08 and on Item 2 to WESCO Utility <br />in the amount of $6,158.60. <br />Report Prepared by: <br />M.
