KEANE, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Various Trans"formers to Date: January 9, 1990 <br />Cooper Power Systems in the Amount of $23,506.75 <br />and WESCO Utility in the Amount of $17,635.22 <br />On December 7, 1989, we advertised for quotations for various trans- <br />formers for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held at 3:00 p.m., <br />January 2,1990, in the General Services office. Five bids were re- <br />ceived and evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price of bid award is listed at the bottom for <br />each recommended vendor. <br />Also attached is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations <br />supplied by the transformer manufacturer arLd unit prices quoted by <br />the vendor. The results of this evaluation determine the recommend- <br />ed vendor. The lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is under- <br />lined. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award on Items 1-5 to Cooper <br />Power Systems in the Amount of $23,506.75 and on Items 6-8 to WESCO <br />Utility in the Amount of $17,635.22. <br />Report Prepared by: M.
