;ITY OF COLTON <br />HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR <br />DEFINITION <br />Under administrative direction, to plan, organize, direct, <br />supervise and evaluate the City recreational, cultural and youth <br />and family service program; to assess City programming needs, <br />stimulate community interest and support; and perform related <br />responsibilities and other duties as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Administrative direction is provided by the City Manager. <br />Responsible for the direct supervision of professional, technical <br />and clerical staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: <br />Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and <br />priorities. <br />Plan, organize, direct, evaluate, promote and, market a <br />comprehensive recreational, cultural, and youth and family service <br />programs. <br />Serves as a staff advisor to the Parks and Re-creation Commission; <br />coordinates departmental activities with other City Departments <br />and private organizations and public agencies. <br />Prepares and presents concise, comprehensives written and oral <br />reports to the City Manager, City -Council and advisory groups as <br />directed. <br />Prepares, recommends and administers departmental and capital <br />improvement budget. <br />Provides technical assistance to community groups. <br />Develops and recommends short and long term goal setting for the <br />Human Services Department. <br />Monitors and analyzes current legislation affecting Human Services <br />programs and projects. <br />Responds to citizens' requests for information and complaints. <br />Administers department contract services and agreements. <br />1 <br />
